Whew! I had a busy day.

First thing, we had a very sucessful program at East during the day. It was an appreciation barbecue for the Custodial staff.  Of course, it was full of complications such as buying a grill at the last minute because East Hall's barbecue went missing the night before the event. Christy ended up buying one and putting it together on the spot. Then we weren't actually sure how to cook raw chicken so Amanda called up her boyfriend Eric and he demonstrated. Beatriz and I sliced the fat off the raw meat, and I accidentally terrified Doreen when I slapped a raw chicken breast into the pan with a loud and satisfied, "Ah, dead animal!" Poor vegans...  But there were lots of residents at the program, and the custodians brought their husbands and children, flew kites, played frisbee and nerf football, and a fun time was had by all. I learned a phrase in Spanish and told Argelia, the lady who cleans East, "Muchas gracias para limpiazar el edificio todos las dias!"

Then the RAC social, which I was totally dreading but ended up not being very stressful. Christy, Amanda, and Doreen all being there and a few of my less favorite coworkers being absent probably had more to do with it than anything.

Right before duty (I switched Saturdays with Doreen) I ran a mile, and right after getting on duty I took a nap! Now I'm just chilling and reading with Gunnar.
