does your sadness hide behind your eyes
like the light hides behind your shadow
have you really stoop so low on betrayal
that no soul could even prevail
has these eyes suffered enough innocents
so much it's time to derail
or have you just given up on the soul of this little girl
wishing high and strong
that a clue or sign might be shown your way
praying at your bedside with your hands as your strength
have you forgotten the words to say
you stubble at your feet
grasp at your air
you're pail as can be
yet your eyes show no fear
do these windows lead to your soul
behind these doors is there emptiness of some kind
so am i seeing nothing
because deep inside you hide
is there a hope out there
one you wish to hold
or are you just hopeless
another one of god's little fouls
see i've written in the pages
the secrets that we keep
i've hidden in the nightmares
the ones you wouldn't dare seek
i've watched the fallen fall
as they stumble off the ground
and i've seen such eyes cry
without even making a sound
these are the days in life
the ones we wish to forget
these are the signs of unhappiness
the signs you chose to rid
so now you sit in your corner
the one where no light can reach
the loneliness in your eyes
it doesn't matter what they preach
you've already hit the bottom
you feel you've failed once again
but truth is you have yet another day
to finally reach out your hand
these eyes have no need to cry
these cheeks red as can be
the lips of the hopeless
one day you will see
you'll walk down these hall ways
wish that you could disappear
that people would stop looking your way
and you could continue life from there
you thought all was good that day
the day before all this came near
that was just a normal day
now look at these tears
the table have turned haven't they
you speak not a sound
the rivers made it's course
and you're broken once again on this cold lonely ground
you're looking at me

i see your pain
i feel it too
screaming out for help
you know that wont do
so you stand there in front of me
and ask me to help you
i came close to your face
just to say goodbye to you
then i balled up my fist
and shattered the mirror into two
no longer will i look at the sadness in your eyes

no longer have i waited to say these words too
