I have a job? Sort of?

I hate Mondays. It’s such a pain going back to school, especially after the cool weekend I had.

I spent Saturday and Sunday in New York at the JSA’s brownstone. (What is a brownstone, anyway? I know the building is called that, but I don’t know why.) Mr Terrific had an idea, that he’d discussed with Reddy, and they wanted to ask me.

Last summer, Ma had a little bit of a rough time running the museum by herself. Not that any one part of it was too much, but just that with the crowds and all, she could use a little help. And I haven’t really had anything to do lately. I tried to get involved with stuff at school. Really, I did! But I just don’t have anything in common with the kids at school. I don’t mean that in a snobby way or anything. *sigh*

Anyway… Terrific had the idea that I could help out on the weekends, and maybe a bit more in the summer. It’d give Ma some help, and it’d give me a place to go. And people who don’t mind having me around.

Of course, here’s the bad part. To know what I’m doing in the museum (and since I’m not sixteen yet, anyway), I get to study History of the Superheroes with Ma and Jesse Chambers. Jesse’s pretty nice. Both of her parents were heroes back in the 40’s and she studied about the superheroes of her parents’ time in college. Also, her dad made newsreels, so she’s got all kinds of footage from back then. So it's going to be studying her archives, and the stuff that the JSA has in their basement, and old newspaper clippings and all of that.

It’s going to be a lot of work, but it should be fun.
