ayaka's newest single is absolutely gorgeous. She starts off in her higher range with a controlled, slightly raspy vocals. Her tone is gorgeous in this slower ballad. Very pretty and highly recommended.

Juno is an amazing movie. I watched never expecting it to be amazing considering its storyline, but it's well worth the time. The soundtrack is full of acoustic guitar centered songs with quirky lyrics. This particular song is my favourite off the song. The driving low guitar drives the beginning forward, and I love the addition of brass in the middle of the song.

I found Charlotte Martin off Vienna Teng's "Similar artists" list on last.fm (which simply means that a lot of Vienna Teng fans listen to her too). I found a few tracks here and there of her music, but I haven't been able to find much of it. This song is a fairly minimalist song with minimal accompaniment with an interesting sound. Martin's voice is strong, and the melody itself is definitely different the usual singer-songwriter stuff.This song has a strong presence of the piano over the cowbell-like percussion.

I love the beat in this song that starts off the song before the short phrases of guitar add themselves over it. The song includes two vocalists: one female and one male. Their voices are soft but their harmonization is really cute to listen to. The vocals are light and contrast to the louder bass and percussion lines.

This is probably one of my favourite songs from Hamasaki. There's a bit of a older renaissance feeling in this song, like a folk song. It reminded me a bit of Scarborough Fair in terms of the opening melody line. Ths is probably one of the earliest songs that I can handle her vocals, as well.

This is a really gorgeous, laid-back mink song. If you haven't listened to mink yet, I really suggest you do because she's a fantasic vocalist. Some of the breathiness in her lower register bugs me at times, but she is actually a very good singer. This particular song is (apparently) a jazzy cover of a song.

I absolutely love this song. Monkey Majik is, by the way, a band with two Canadian and two Japanese guys. The music is mainly written and sung by the two Canadian brothers. This particular song is completely in English, and has a very catchy acoustic guitar accompaniment.

I've recently refound this band fronted by former Cookies member, Kary Ng. I've heard this song before, and I'm not quite sure where, but this is a live studio version off their only album. The song is a soft, pretty ballad. It's a very pretty and well performed piece. The end is find of funny because they're all rejoicing that they're done recording the song XDD (that's like the only thing I understood in the whole thing, other than random words in the song. XD

I just reorganized my music and added buriguri to my list XD. So I decided to this old favourite of mine from the band. This song is completely in English and opens with a strong guitar before going into a more laid-back sounding song. The song is also in 3/4 (aka the same time as a waltz). :O
