The big W&H building looked like all the others. It even had the same lobby. Of course different lawyers. Jules was going to arrive later, assigning me to the recconaissance and introductions. Good ol Jules screwing me over. Well, no matter. I tucked my folder of info in my nice new jacket and went into one of the elevators. Hmm, who should I ( Read more... )

I can't believe this is really happening. We're going to play hooky. Having a picnic during work hours. Not that it really matters, considering we're both department heads. We can always say it's a business breakfast or brunch. I very much doubt Angel will get on our case about it.

We'd made our way over to my office with food I'd gotten us for breakfast. All we needed now was a blanket. Which, I just happen to have in my office. Not that I used it much because I fell asleep during my work. Lately, that is.

Grabbing the blanket, I smiled over at Fred, wrapping my arm around her waist. "I guess that's everything. Ready?" And just as I turn around some young chap walk in with a grin I have an instant dislike for. Strange. Narrowing my eyes, I let go of Fred, putting the blanket on the sofa for now. One does need to keep up the air of professionalism around here.

"May I help you mister....?"

Say no. Go away. Turn around and toddle off. Bye for now, we're having plans. Damn, why do people...or demons, always barge in at the most inconvenient times?

So I guess I was definitely gonna be working late today. But it was worth it. Spending time with Wesley was way more important than working at the lab, or working with some unknown ancient viral strand.

After everything that had happened, this was finally our time. And nothing was going to get in the way of us. Things were finally the way they were supposed to be and I was glad.

"Yeah, ready." I said smiling at him.

As we started to head out, we were greeted at the door by... young... lawyer? Too young to be a lawyer, but then again, everyone here looked too young. I gave him a half smile and a quizzical look, as I waited for him to answer Wesley's question.

I really hoped that he was just looking for a different office, or just had a general question on some ancient scroll or just anything that would take less than five minutes to answer.
