Today has been awesome.
I woke up at roughly 8:30am, which feels sooooo good. I have so much more leisure time, and time to do homework, when I wake up early. So what did I do after I'd showered and prepared myself for the day? I baked, of course ;) Chocolate mousse cake for French class. So. Freakin'. Delicious.
Mom and I (or at least I) had lots of fun making it and giggling. By the end of it my hands were covered in chocolate and egg, which was pretty much all the cake consisted of.
Damn I'm good.
My hand still hurts from scalding it though. Mom and I went to the coop for chocolate chunks and chai tea, and as I was going up my porch, the very hot, very full 16 oz. chai spit up all over the back of my hand. My index finger had a large red scar for a time. Honestly I'm a little bummed that it's gone now, it looked bad ass.
Sci-fi class was great. We finished watching F.451.
I liked the ending in the movie better, but in general I like the book much better than the movie.
The movie was made by a french director, with french, german, and british actors, and had a very pastel, camera style and too much character change, including a sex life between the main chatacter and his wife that NEVER EXISITED, and the drastic changing of my favorite character.
The thing that bothered me the most was that almost everything was in daylight. In my mind, nearly the entire book was at night. So yeah. My imagination wins.
I am so excited about my homework assignment! It's a paper, but we were given creative options, so I've decided to do a collage about Hal, the computer from "2001: A Space Odyssey". For those of you who've read the book, I know I'm odd. For those of you who've seen the movie (I havn't yet), I promise I'm not crazy, nor hommocidal.
I won't go into all my views of Hal right now, if y'all want I'll post my thematic defense when the project is done, but suffice it to say, Hal is not just a crazy evil computer, and he has more innocence, and conflictoin, than I think any of us will ever know.
For the time being, I think I will do some homework. I just have to figure out where to start!
But I'm so excited!
