"kids are just going to have sex anyway..."

NO we're bloody well not. I HATE this argument. it's one of the most offensive phrases I have ever come across. it purports to excuse all manner of illegitimate activities. besides, where else can someone get away with that kind of sweeping, condescending prejudice? can we say "oh all blacks are dangerously violent" or "you can't teach mexicans anything, they're too stupid" or "all women are whiney crybabies who need to have somebody else do everything for them"? of course not! then why paint all teenagers as unprincipled, wild, immoral, and incapable of the slightest bit of restraint? sounds like someone just wants to get out of the responsibility of teaching us anything worth learning like... ABSTINENCE!

GUESS WHAT? kids will generally ACT like how you TREAT them. and if you assume all kids are perpetually in heat and will hump like bunnies whenever they get the chance with no thought to anything but their own temporal satisfaction, then by golly you just gave them permission to do so and you bet they will fulfill your expectations! but guess what else - there are actually some kids who are taught to save sex for marriage, and they actually DO that, and if they slip up once or twice at least they know it is WRONG and might STOP and reconsider their lifestyles.

I think it is disgustingly arrogant to assume that all kids are whores and johns. I for one, having been a virgin for 18 years and counting, resent being grouped with all current and future generations as being completely incapable of controlling myself. don't be absurd.

this kind of thinking is both DANGEROUS and VILE.
