So, a comment from a reader (!) reminded me about this place. Maybe it's time to (gasp) post again?

What's going on, gaming-wise? Well, I'm still playing my Malkavian in the LARP, though she has advanced from ghoul to a free Neonate. Here she is, no longer Jouét but Joy de Vivré. She's still a sick little puppy. I like to have her in a perfectly ( Read more... )

It's not very hard. The world is similar to WoD, and the rules are pretty basic. You have a set of characteristics like Strength, Intelligence and so on, and you have skills and magic abilities.

Let's say that you want to pick a lock. I, the gamemaster, ask you if you have the skill Lockpicking. If you have, then I'll let you add your Lockpicking skill (let's say it's a 2) and your Dexterity (3) together. That gives us 5. You then roll a D10, add the result (let's say 4) to your earlier number, and if the result is 9 or higher, then you succeded. 5 and 4 makes 9 - great! You made it!

If you haven't got a skill, I might ask for a hard Dexterity check instead. Then you only get to add your dex to the dice roll. Or if you are trying to pick a lock while being blindfolded, tickled under your toes, extremely drunk and it's raining. Then I might say "Ok, add everything together and take the result minus five".

And that's about it when it comes to the common rule mechanics.

You can also download the entire core book as a free PDF from the Internet, though I can't be bothered to find the site at this very moment.

That sounds pretty simple actually. I am not very good with rules. (I actually suck...) So simple rules. I love. :-) I'll have to read up on that. Sounds fun. :-)
