Callout for volunteers! The Montreal Childcare Network is hosting a
workshop for new members on January 27th!
Do you enjoy working with kids and supporting community organizations?
The Montreal Childcare Network, a working group of QPIRG Concordia and
QPIRG McGill, is looking for volunteers to do occasional childcare during
meetings and events, and/or to help plan day camps.
We work in solidarity with groups and organizations in Montreal who are
involved in grassroots struggles. The aim of the Montreal Childcare
Network is to offer strategic childcare as a response to the fact that
childcare is frequently overlooked, under-appreciated, and unlikely to be
prioritized. Our intentions are to meet the specific needs of parents,
youth and children, low-income communities, non-status and immigrant
communities of colour, queer and trans communities, etc.
We are hosting a workshop for new and active volunteers on Saturday,
January 27th, to discuss ideas and strategies, share skills, and get to
know each other. The workshop will be held at 2110 Mackay (Guy-Concordia
metro) from 12:30 to 4:30. Everyone is welcome!
If you're interested in getting involved, please email us at
childcarecollective@riseup.net. Tell us your name, a few words about your
interest in the collective, and your experience with children, if any.
**At the workshop, childcare will be provided, snacks will be served, bus
tickets will be available, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.**
