yay sick again

I just got back from picking up my handy dandy z-pack and other fun perscriptions. The doctor told me I may have to have another surgery on my nose :( The side that had the fucked up splint has grown a bunch of extra skin, and the side that didn't fuck up has grown some extra skin too. When I told my doctor what happened with the specialist he had recommended (see earlier blog from februaryish) he was pretty upset about my ordeal. He said he's not going to send any more patients to that doctor if they are going to be treated badly.. I don't know if I mentioned this in the earlier post, but the specialist, Dr. Card, changed his whole dimeaner when I told him that I injured myself at a bar, and became very stand-offish to the point where I suspect he did not put the right effort into fixing my nose in the first place. I know all about holier-than-thou pseudo-christians, and he definately showed all the signs. I was raised by one of them, and forced onto medication I didn't need at 14 by another. So I have quite a history with these people, enough to know how they talk behind peoples backs. For example, my sister believes smokers should be kept in cages and people who drink alcahol are letting demons inside their body, and therefore should be punished. She's currently at Baylor where that doctor graduated. And my doctor told me that Dr. Card has shown a very negative attitude around his colleagues, so at least he got in trouble.

In other happenings, I have resurrected my old debussy pieces that i havent practiced in years. they are coming along quite nicely, as is the advanced level bach prelude i'm working on. i wish i had time to learn more bach, i always feel smarter after struggling through one of his pieces, but unfortunately, i have to devote more time to the pieces that will get me somewhere, ie-pieces i can turn around and teach my students. after musette and minuet in g, kids really have no interest in bach unless i reeeally sell the piece. i've started signing kids up for a summer music camp at a montessori school. so far i've 17! i agreed to do this before i realized the school consists of 3 to 5 year olds. i'm not sure i will be able to handle it, but for $40+/hr i'll figure it out. i've already spent about $200 on rhythm instruments for us to play with. teaching children to hit things to a beat.. that should turn out swell.. oh, i forgot to mention, these will be group lessons of 4 at a time, so yeah. i told their parents that they are welcome to sit in and help me control their damn kids, but it's probably just going to be me dealing with them. it'll be good for me. i've already learned a lot about patience in my 7 years of teaching, i'll just have to muster up all that, and even if they do run me over, the classes are technically 45 minutes, and then i give them back to their parents. it'll all work out, as long as i can talk! i lost my voice saturday and can't find it anywhere!
