christopher seaman (sp?) is such a great conductor. he has the whole orchestra in stitches during the rehearsal. i really wish he was conducting instead of dr. harmon. nothing against harmon, he's just not as entertaining. anyway, to today's drama.
christopher seaman came in, with his little baton things (he had this whole little case of batons, and i wasnt sure what it was for) anyway, so we were playing a piece (i think this was during pomp and circumstance... either that or during mars from The Planets) and he was conducting. so suddenly he jumps down from the podium, picks something up, and then stops the orchestra. he holds up his baton, or what was left of it. during the piece, he had hit it on the low lying ceiling, and it had snapped and gone flying. he laughed, and got a replacement stick thing from the little case thing. very funny. almost as funny as mrs. howe falling down the stairs (no, she wasnt hurt, i'm not sadistic) she laughed at it herself. but i digress. seaman is a really good conductor, and the rpo is lucky to have him.
happy now?
