Terrible Threes and other interesting tidbits....

I feel really bad about saying this, but Cecilia is a brat. She really is. She's a spoiled brat. I'm guessing she gets away with a lot at her moms, because she told me "Fuck you, Amy" quite a few times. The next time she says that, I'm putting soap or something on her tongue. She's three years old, she doesn't need to be speaking like that. ( Read more... )

I think you should watch a few episodes of Supernanny and learn from her. It always seems to work with those kids. Let her know who's boss, because that's ridiculous and if you and Dustin don't swear a lot, she's definitely getting it from her mother. And that's just wrong. The fact that she's been hitting you is absurd as well, and if you do what Dustin says and just let her get away with it, she'll just keep doing it because she knows you'll give in.

If you regularly take your cat to the same vet, you should definitely let them know that she had this type of reaction to the anesthetic. They probably overdosed her on something and if she was that out of it, it could have killed her.

After my cats get fixed, they've never been so bad that they couldn't walk. Usually, they're hyper from the pain medication they give them--but they give them this little thing called a pain patch that provides a steady supply of pain medication for about five days after the surgery ( ... )

They gave her an extra pain shot of meds before I took her. Like a shot of vicadin for kitty.

That seems kind of harsh for an animal. :(

I was kind of shocked to read the first part of this post, really. Sorry that you're having trouble with her, you sound discouraged. But I don't think you should try the soap, because I always wonder if it can make the kid sick (like if they accidently swallowed some of it). Try hot sauce?

Dustin doesnt want me to use soap, either. I'll inquire about hotsauce.

As for spanking, I don't think it's effective because you aren't hitting the kid hard enough for it to hurt them (which would be wrong, of course), so when you threaten to spank them, they probably aren't that afraid of it. Just my opinion. I also don't like the fact that it's hitting their rear end to punish them, because that seems sort of sick to me.
