This entry brought to you by: the ungodly amount of down-time running a psych experiment leaves you with.
And of course, the letter V.
I haven't updated this thing since I got back... so lets back up a smidge. I got accepted into a research lab! *dances* I am, officially a researcher in the Whisman Clinical Psychology Lab, studying the correlation of rumination and depression. Which translates into: hours of my week are spent greeting subjects, putting them in booths, and staring into space for the following fifty minutes. Anything for graduate school. Though I will admit, greeting subjects with the all so ominous "Welcome... to Experiment 826... please let me escort you to your... sound-proof booth" sounds so very old horror movie. It's all I can do to keep from saying it in the most monotone voice possible and following it with a sinister cackle. Or from wearing a blood-stained lab coat. It's pure willpower.
My other classes are surprisingly awesome as well. When not sitting here in the Human Experimental Laboratory (I love the name) I've got psychopathology, statistics in behavioral studies, human nutrition, and a fun little writing class centering around topics from Hamlet (lets call it my "how many papers can I write on Ophelia" class). All are going well... all have good teachers and all that.
In all other aspects, things are super. Matt has moved across the way from his old place, and I am fairly sure I will soon be arrested for the brutal murder of the gentleman who lives above us... and his 100lb dog that likes to do backflips in the middle of the night (I have no idea what he does to make so damned much noise, but I imagine it's giant pitbull acrobatics). The cats are insane down there... more so than usual. Gizmo has taken to tightrope-walking the pipes on the ceiling. When I next update with photos, I'll have to include a few of that (they're up on facebook if you want to see). Jen's (our dominatrix upstairs) boyfriend and her had a ugly split... that left her with a great deal of his things. Which, basically, left Matt and I with a great deal of his things *more dances* I got posters older than me and an awesome painting of Siouxsie and Robert Smith in an "American Gothic" pose (too cute, I know). Matt got posters, not that painting :P, Tim Burton figures, boots, and a gorgeous vinyl coat that he needs to wear more. Jen needs to kick Scott out more often, because that was better than Christmas.
I swear, I'll be back with a picture post soon. Probably next experiment.
