Swancon, Gaming, Kids

Posting this here as a sounding board before I post to the Swancon comm etc - my brain is mushy atm from work !

There are really two points :

1. There will be a 'gaming with kids' session on Saturday afternoon - and the plan there is to basically take over the area, set up games, teach games, talk about games, play with games, talk about our experiences etc.
This is specifically aimed at being kid-focussed and I'm envisaging kids from maybe 2 1/2 upwards (if not playing the games they can always play WITH the games)

2. For the general gaming and the 'Invitation to Game' sessions I think that children are quite welcome, BUT they and their parents/carers/guardians need to be aware that
A. not everyone wants to play a game with children
B. it's not a baby-sitting service

The ideal situation would be to utilise the room as a space to play games with your children. So, if a parent/guardian wants to occupy one or more kids by playing boardgames they will be made welcome.
There will be a variety of games suitable for different ages on hand, and there will be (I hope oh God I hope) people who can teach the games if necessary.

Depending on the age and the maturity of the child it may be possible for them to game independantly of their parent/guardian - this has certainly happened in the past, but it really depends on the child and the other gamers in the room - see points 2A. and 2B. above
