I remember getting very high the first night there, so I wanted to sleep in the next day but had to get up early for group food & getting ready for skiing.
I was SO NERVOUS about cross country skiing. I like sports, but I have zero balance control. I knew what was coming :P Who knew there would be actual hills on the trail!? I'm thankful I didn't injure myself & that I had very patient friends along for the ride who encouraged me when I fell down (a lot) & waited for me to catch up.
These pictures are all of the morning on the mountain:
If you look closely, you can see tiny cross country skiiers on the trails below our chalet.
I didn't take my camera skiing because I knew I'd have a hard enough time taking care of myself. Afterwards, some people played Settlers of Catan.
There was lots of strategy!
I think Jason's eyes look very strange in this photo (=me still getting used to my camera). Boone is having fun!
At some point during the game Jason, Matt, & Nathan decided to jump off our balcony into the giant snowdrift below. These photos chronicle their adventure:
This was my favourite photo of the trip, I wish it wasn't blurry!
Nath, you look so happy!
Then the fog rolled in & the skiiers came back. Ryan was grumpy. I was sad.
After we talked about it, all was well again.
Then we played Laura's game, which was a great idea.
I'm 99% sure this photo actually came from the arrival night. I remember Laura (who was to the left of the camera) said "I hate when people take photos without telling you!" My paranoid mind translated "I hate YOU Sara!" stupid pot.
Anyways, I think I learned that sometimes you just have to take photos because people appreciate them later. I try to delete the bad ones! I didn't use my flash a lot at Mnt Wash. because I wanted to be unobtrusive & not have flashes going off every 3 seconds, but I'll definitely be more camera-happy in the future.
