Eh, your drug answer. See hun, sometimes drug dealers lace marijuana with cocaine so the kids buying the drugs get addicted. This is why it is illegal. And have you seen potheads? They're not exactly in the best shape.

yeah though.

Then why isn't alcohol illegal? There's always the danger someone is going to slip you a drink laced with some date rape drug. Drug, cocaine addiction, they're both up there on the high trauma list. What I'm saying is, both alcohol and marijuana involve similar risks.

Dealers lacing marijuana with cocaine is exactly the kind of thing that made the Netherlands legalize marijuana, or at least take it down to a 'controlled substance'. Which is smart. Because by taking it out of the black market, you're taking it out of the hands of criminals who'd do shit like that. You're putting it in a legitimate and thus more trustworthy market.

I have seen potheads. I've seen them get over a 3.0 GPA, maintain a scholarship, and recognized as a contributing member of my college campus.

Thank you for the 'yes'.

Who's gonna slip you a date rape drug if you just opened the bottle, or don't leave it out in public acess? alchol is sealed shut, but when you buy pot its not and could have been messed with.

Which is why it should be decriminalized, so legitimate quality control of marijuana will happen, and you can get safe marijuana from shops (like in the Netherlands), instead of having to resort to evil-minded dealers who have intentions to fuck you over. Thanks for proving my point.

Marijuana is a recreational substance, like alcohol. If you do too much of it at one time, you're pretty much useless. Just be smart about it. People can drink responsibly, and they can smoke pot responsibly too. Unlike alcohol though, I haven't heard of anyone dying of marijuana poisoning.

I'm really not sure. There are points I like, and points I don't.

But I am in a fairly good mood, so for now, a YES it be!

Wow. I must say, I was totally going to say yes before I stumbled upon your drug answer. Your lack of knowledge really upsets me. Drugs are dangerous, be it Marijuana, Cigarettes, or even alcohol. It is all a danger to you and your health. No matter which way you put it, darling. It would have been legalized by now if it were healthy for you. I have known a few people who have come close to death from marijuana overdoses. Not only that, but many people start off using the innocent drugs (ie. Marijuana) and then move onto 'better' things, such as ecstasy and cocaine. You are being very narrow-minded in my opinion. Sure Marijuana may not be the worst drug out there, but does that mean it should be okay for 13 year old children to get high every saturday night because that is the cool things to do, and that should be excepted? welcome to the real world. It's not okay for people to do these things at such a young age, and it shows even more stupidity to do them at an older age. But hey what do I know right? I do know that Marijuana alone ( ... )

It would have been legalized by now if it were healthy for you.
Then here are a list of things that should also be illegal: cigarettes, alcohol (and let's not forget that alcoholism can be genetic), cough medicine (in large doses, you trip balls), morning glory seeds (again with the tripping balls, available in any gardening store), junk food and fast food (obesity, a growing health hazard in the US), ADD medication. If you ingest the wrong amount of anything, whether it's too much or too few, it's not going to be healthy for you.

Marijuana alone has been found to contain more cancer causing agents than in tobacco smoke.
Vodka contains more alcohol than beer. People who drink vodka in moderation are still in a better place than people who binge on beer every weekend. Marijuana is way more expensive than cigarettes anyway, so it's more likely that people are going to smoke cigarettes too much than pot too much.

And actually...

From "Marijuana Myths", written by Paul Hager, chair of the ICLU Drug Force:
5. Marijuana is much more ( ... )

Excuse me. I do know those people. And they have had near death experiences with Marijuana, and marijuana alone. It is a drug. You can die from overdosing on practically anything. Thank you very much.

How much did they smoke? Where did they get their weed? How long have they been smoking weed before this incident happened? Do they have allergies or conditions hitherto unknown?

I am very sorry that your friends had bad experiences with marijuana. I don't mean to reopen wounds or undermine the seriousness of a near-death experience. As someone mentioned before, it was possible that their weed was laced with something. It happened to my friend's parents when they were young; their weed was laced with PCP. They didn't nearly die, but they had a bad experience and have never smoked weed since. Which is understandable. I hope you understand I'm not beating up on those who don't smoke up. It's everyone's right to make that decision. It's just that personal experience leads me to conclude that it's going to take a lot of time, dedication, and money to overdose on weed alone.
