Title: Vampires Will Never Hurt Me
Chapter: 1
Rating: PG ~> NC-17
Summery: Like must marry like for there to be happiness. What happens when that rule is broken?
A/N: Hey.... Ummm... My name is Krit, and this is my first post here...
Well... actually... It's my first VAM fic at all so... Be gentle?
Construct Crit is good... So if this sucks, tell me in a nice way.
(O.T., if you recognize any of my icons, tell me and I'll credit.)
Bam walked into the pirate bar, trying to ignore Dunn lecturing behind him.
“You’re playing with fire here. You’re just going to get hurt. I know
you like him and everything, but it’s not safe.” He had been trying to
talk to Bam for the better part of an hour, but the other man seemed
determined not to listen.
“Look, Dunn, I appreciate the concern, I really do. But I know what I’m
doing. And I don’t just like Ville. I’m in love with him. So I’m
willing to take the risks.” He sat down, holding up the goblet in his
hand and just staring at it. The embossing on it was hypnotizing. More
mind numbing than the golden liquid it contained. Dunn sat across from
him, trying to figure out what he was thinking. It got harder to do
each day. He was about to say something when April came bustling in.
“Why do you two look so down? I figured you’d be breaking something at
this hour.” She set the grocery bags on the counter and shook her head
at her son. “For god’s sake Bam, it’s a hundred degrees outside, why
the hell are you wearing a scarf?”
Ignoring Dunn’s pointed look, Bam left the house.
“What’s his problem?”

Bam walked for hours. Not really knowing where he was headed, but
knowing full well all the same. He stood outside of the hotel for a
while as he went over everything Dunn had said. But it made no
difference. He was a stubborn bastard, and his mind had been made up.
He walked right through the lobby, to the elevator, and up to the tenth
floor. He walked down the hall without his usual arrogant stance.
Instead, he more resembled a lost puppy, looking for its master.

Ville was sprawled out on the couch reading when he heard a light
knocking on the door. Knowing instantly who it was, he sprang up,
opened the door, and took his lover in his arms. “Something’s wrong.”
He murmured into Bam’s hair. “What is it darling?”
Bam sighed deeply, holding Ville as tight as he could. “Dunn knows. About you. He said he saw you last night.”
Ville’s eyes darkened as worry spread across his face. He led Bam
inside, closing and locking the door securely. “He didn’t see anything.
I haven’t killed in years.”
“It doesn’t matter. He saw. He knows. And he is freaking out. He told me...” Bam trailed off and stared at the floor.
Ville felt a pang of guilt. He wouldn’t be able to bare coming between
the two best friends. He clasped his hand around his, and placed two
fingers under Bam’s chin with the other to lift his head gently. “What
did he say darling?” He asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.
“He said you’re too dangerous. That I should stay away from you.” His voice cracked in sync with Ville’s heart.
“And you... What do you think?”
Bam shook his head quickly, taking a deep breath.
“He’s wrong. He’s just worried about me, but he doesn’t know what he’s
talking about. I love you. I won’t leave you.” He squeezed the older
man’s hand for emphasis.
Ville placed a soft kiss to Bam’s cheek. “I love you too. But I can’t say that I’ll never leave. If you want me gone, I’ll go.”
“No! Never.”
Ville’s lips twisted into a gentle smile. “Then I’ll stay. I’ll never
do anything ask me not to.” As if to seal the deal, he placed his hand
behind Bam’s head and kissed him firmly.
