(no subject)
I feel so bad because I never really know what to write about here. Yet this time I know that I'm just being lazy, as there is a whole lotta everything going on in my life right now.
Career: I have applied to a DVMM position in Bluenotes. What is that you ask? District Visual Merchandising Manager. Basically, I am the visual coordinator in charge of a district of store (sounds to be the newmarket/barrie area of stores) and would travel between the 5 or so stores in my district and make sure they are compliant to company policies regarding visual merchandising. As well as flexing my creative muscles and refreshing the look of stores and aiding with visual touch ups and stuff. Creating colour stories, outfits, different folds, different setups, etc. Fun stuff! I had my first interview last week and it went really really well. This was with the lady who would be my direct boss, the Director of Visual. I am to be set up for an interview next week with the VP of operations with the company and I am hopeful that that will lead to me getting the position... I think the positives are heavily weighing me into success here! Wish me luck!!
Marriage!: So, I am getting married July 10th/2010. It came down to a summer wedding. Its starting to get scary now because were starting to jump into the planning.. and were starting to believe we will need the aid of a wedding planner. Ive spoken with one who sounds doable and says the discounts she'll get with her vendors will basically cover her costs anyway. Ive had just about enough of looking around at venues online and I really havent a clue where to begin. Likewise for Linda finding her dress... its far too much to think about with far too little will to do it. Let alone devoting that time to it. We have, however, finally decided on a budget and colours and are in the works of an invite list... aiming for 150 people. Stay tuned!
Other: I am en route to paying off the engagement ring. Linda has already managed to save up almost $3000 towards the wedding of our projected 5-6000 for our share of the budget. So I think I will leave her to saving up for that and I will, once the ring is paid off, aim my focus solely to downpayment savings. I have been dreaming about this for the last 9 months and finally its coming close to setting this account up. I am projecting to have saved about $30-40000 in the next 2-3 years, between Linda and myself. If I keep up at the rate Ive been going for the past year of paying off debt, I will no doubt hit this goal. Although, I do plan on buying a car this year, which will drastically change this.
