all those songs that say something about living
all those people who are just too happy to stand
all those books that wrap their words around bliss

i strongly suggest downloading/purchasing eisley and tegan and sara's new albums. they'll make you look at things differently.

school is the definition of insanity.
there is so much work, and my brain has never been so stimulated in my life.
earlier this week i was talking with someone who said this, "jess, your going to art school, how hard can it actually be?"
i yelled at him.

yes, most of our professors are stoners
yes, some classes are spent just looking at art
yes, we do whatever the hell we want

however not only do we have to reach into our souls and pull out something beautiful (and get it onto paper or anything) by a specific date. we also take humanities courses. in which, as artists we are expected to not just write a paper that makes sense, it must be a work of art. and if you think "making art" sounds fun and easy to do all of the time, it's not. it's the hardest thing we face - coming up with an idea that fits the assignment with our own twist to it. and if we're at a point of exhaustion and/or a block in creativity, we're screwed. it would be like you having to study for an exam without a textbook. or you having to write a long paper without words. not to mention a forever financial state of debt.

just needed to vent that a tad. it's getting on my nerves when i hear that art school is a breeze. we have an eternal label slapped on us as slackers. i've come to the conclusion that anyone/everyone that has something bad to say or questions an art school is jealous. i might sound self-centered in saying this, but whatev. my final thought is that yes, their all jealous of the fact that we can make beautiful things and they can't.

well guess what? i'm jealous that you can do math and i can't.
..not really
