never thought a job manual could cause hyperventilation...

1. My ratings of NYC cupcakes (incomplete; will be updated as I go back and try more places):

#4. Magnolia - it has the reputation but not the cupcake behind; too bland, too dry. I had the chocolate with vanilla frosting. Vastly disappointing, but good coffee.
#3. Babycakes - their wheat-free, gluten-free banana cupcake with vanilla cream cheese frosting was definitely enjoyable, and the banana chunks in the cupcake helped out with the slight dryness of the cake. Wouldn't have known how 'healthy' it was, so rather impressive for the ingredients used.
#2. Buttercup - absolutely wonderful lemon cupcake with lemon frosting; moist, mild lemon cake but slightly too-sour lemon frosting; beautiful yellow color. The vanilla cake with chocolate frosting was of high quality but not incredibly impressive.
#1. Billy's - FANTABULOUS carrot cake cupcake with cream cheese frosting. Ugh, I miss it already.

2. It was really hard seeing my aunt in the hospital. I knew the situation before, I made my parents keep me updated daily, but wow... cancer sucks. I don't know what else to say. It just all happened so fast...

3. But on a happier note, it was so, so nice to see Jason. For some reason, I was kind of nervous to see him - I don't know why, but I thought it might be different or something would have changed... but no. It's still odd for me sometimes, with how I felt in the past about relationships, etc, to have something so RIGHT right now... I'm so happy to be back with him, for this month at least. And we really are going to Willow House tonight, plans have been made. :)

4. I've been reading the manual for my job next year and am officially scared out of my mind. 65 hour weeks are not unusual. we have a good 15-20ish policy areas to cover each. We write the vast majority of press releases, op-eds, speeches, policy papers, blogs, etc for the RAC, which represents 1.5 million reform Jews across the nation. SHIT. No sweat, right? Let's just hope I get through it without a mental breakdown, but no promises.

5. It's hot as hell here. I'm going swimming.
