On Sunday I and a few more people went to Madison. It was really cool there, I can definitely see the appeal based on the downtown area alone. Madison is a very modern city, with new roads and artsy shops. I got my first set of Prismacolors, which is to say, five or so of them. They're like crack. I need to find a tutorial/learn from Maggie when she comes back in November, but I did a self-portrait in my new Tiny!Sketchbook which I need to mod a little. I also had Napalese food for lunch, Moroccan mint tea in the afternoon, and sushi for dinner. Jesus did I have sushi. It wasn't as good as at home, but it was pretty damn fine anyway. I overestimated my tolerance for fish roe, and will know better for next time.
I really have little idea what I want to do with my hair. Cutting the back, sure, but I think doing some highlights in the front would be ideal. The bright blues especially appeal, but the Bright As Fuck Yellow color might look trashy on me.
I think for Halloween I'm going to dress up as a cute skeleton with a Day of the Dead mask. I saw another artist's concept design of it, and damn I want to do that again. Also: cute Day of the motherfucking Dead mask! Hello, Heaven! After my last (very) enjoyable experience making a felt mask, I definitely think I can do it. I'd totally want to also make a bunch more Day of the Dead masks too, because it's like one of my favorite holidays ever, even if I haven't actively celebrated it before. The mask itself might actually be made out of paper mache, since apparently that's what most of the skeleton figures in Day of the Dead are made of.
And I know that Jeremiah played a Mexican Moros, but doing something similar in either Mage, Geist, or even Abyssals would be fantastic. I don't think she'd believe she's an Aztec god, but believing that celebrating a person's life and remembering them in death would be neat. I also like the idea of having someone who would much rather embrace death as just another state of being than mourn that change. Non-psychopathic Abyssals, Moros, and so on would be pretty nifty. Or just somebody who's really, really misled.
I'll start designing masks tomorrow. And planning on making cute skeleton plushies.
Some of you might also be wondering why I'm posting so late. I'm at a loss as much as you guys, but I'm betting it has to do with how late I've been going to bed and waking up.
Wesley is also getting neutered tomorrow. I really hope it goes well, and whatever collar they give him doesn't stress him out too much.
