- 1775 - Two lanterns were hung from the steeple of the Old North Church in Boston, Massachusetts. Paul Revere, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott ride to warn of impending arrests of Samuel AdamsJohn Hancock and seizure of weapons. Only Prescott finishes the ride.
