It's thoughts like this that catch my troubled head when you're away when I am missing you to death

Dec 30, 2004 13:40

Stolen from Eryka.

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before? Not really demand as much from my person as I usually do. Good or bad thing? I guess it goes both ways.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No. I never make New Years' Resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Michaela. O.o; No, I'm jp. Where that came from... I have no idea. :] Nope. Nobody.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No, but I like to look at that as a good thing.
5. What countries did you visit? None.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? Get to know God more/a better relationship with the Lord.
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? October 22. It was one of my best days ever. But now, looking back at some of my entries... I had a really good year. Made a lot of mistakes, but nothing I can't learn from. Of course, there's always a lesson in everything.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Becoming closer to those that I had started to drift away from... and also really getting to know myself and my priorities. I feel like I am a lot better as a person in many aspects of my life thus far.
9. What was your biggest failure? Crying for days about something that really wasn't that big of a deal at all. It was so lame and prissy of me and I was so very "drama-queen"-ish. Aiyah. But, oh well... teenage angst. I don't really regret it though. I actually think it was a good thing to freak out like that... so I guess it's not really a failure. But, hey, I have one... GETTING A FREAKING B IN HEALTH CLASS. Oh my goodness. >:o
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I got ill a lot. Lots of temporary fevers that would last for a few minutes then go away... then start up again. :\ Oh, yeah, and that one time I got sick and felt like I was dying. .-.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Hm... well, the best thing that anyone ever bought for me is my Terry/Crabbie/Patty/Hermie/Toad. Otherwise, I love everything I buy -- that's why I bought it!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Everyone in my life is amazing. But I think Erica Zucco is probably one of the nicest people out there. She's always making people smile and her presence just radiates such warmth. And Jason Nguy: nicest guy ever. Ever. Enough said.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Appalled? Nobody really seriously made me "appalled" -- I just say that people appal me sometimes when they really don't. Depressed? "My Dearest Tragedy." Yeah, that's it. Pissed me off too. >:\ But that just shows how much I care.
14. Where did most of your money go? Clothes. Food. Movies. :D
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO THE SWITCHFOOT CONCERT. OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS. KATIE MET THEM. I COULD HAVE MET THEM. Other than that, I get excited about a lot of things. O.o;
16. What song will always remind you of 2004? Switchfoot -- "This Is Your Life", "Meant to Live," and, Usher/Alicia Keys/Beyonce -- "My Boo" and Ashlee Simpson, "Pieces of Me" because the that's all the radio ever played... and Katie was FOREVER singing Switchfoot.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

Older or wiser? Both
Thinner or fatter? The same
Richer or poorer? Richer... thanks to Christmas money. Bwahaha.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Spending more time with people.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Complaining and getting angry about things I couldn't really do anything about anyhow.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? Lots of yummy though fattening foods. Relatives. Family friends. PRESENTS. :D
22. Did you fall in love in 2004? I am so in love with my family.
24. What was your favorite TV program? Jack and Bobby. Oh my goodness. Amazing.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Well, I thought I came to terms with this one person. But, I feel like we can just never get along, despite my efforts. I don't hate him/her though. Hate is just... hate. It's just wrong. :\
26. What was the best book you read? Book? Hah. Actually, I have been looking for a really good book. I used to read so much. I've been slacking.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Jay Chou. Oh my freaking goodness. I do not know how I have been able to neglect him so long.
28. What did you want and get? I was already pretty close with my family... but I wanted to be really close, and we are.
29. What did you want and not get? Hm. SWITCHFOOT. OH MY GOODNESS.!
30. What was your favorite film of this year? The Passion of the Christ... and, Identity. Even though it wasn't released this year. But I saw it this year. :] Otherwise, I still want to see ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, FINDING NEVERLAND, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, THE AVIATOR, ALFIE, and, I HEART HUCKABEES. :D
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Sweet 16. On my actual birthday: opened presents. It was a schoolnight. Ate cake. Fun family stuff, you know. Then later I had a little get-together/party. Fun. I enjoyed it much. I love you people. :]
32. What's one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? I agree with Eryka. More self-control.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? More accessories. Otherwise, still my usual style.
34. What kept you sane? Lily and Peter and Cindy and Michaela. Even though they also made me INSANE. :D And music, most definitely.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Jay Chou and John Cusack. ;]
36. What political issue stirred you the most? John Kerry for President. Haaaaaaaaah.
37. Who did you miss? A lot of people. I always miss people, even if I just saw them.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Bernard. Met him last year... but we didn't really come to terms with each other. He is such a nice, cool person. Same with Anna. And Dharani. And Kaitlyn in Geometry. She is the sweetest. And Amber. And Jennifer. And Melissa. And Jonathan. OMG, how I love Jonathan. And a lot of people. :D
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: Yes, think before you speak. You just might piss someone off. Or, in my case, quite a few people.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: "This is your life, are you who you wanna be?" and "I wanna see miracles... see the world change."

I had a really good year, if I must say so myself. I really do appreciate a lot of what has happened in my life. I smiled much. I laughed a lot. It hasn't been the easiest year, but I enjoyed it immensely. It's a beautiful life. I really feel I am genuinely happy. The people I have been so blessed to have met and become close with... you all are so amazing. Each and every one of you. You are irreplaceable.

Change is good but only if it's for the better. And if that's the case, it should be embraced... because, though I do love you so dearly as you are now, I want to love the best you. Because I believe you are capable of utilizing your utmost potential... because you really are that amazing. And because you believed in me.

Regardless if change means you must move on... I just hope that you treasure these moments. Your life. You're so precious. And amid the strife and trialsome times... know that God wouldn't give you anything He knew you could not handle. That He loves you "this much." And I love you too. Because I do. I really, truly do.

Last September, I submitted an application to volunteer at Edward Hospital. Earlier this week, Pam Briggs from the Volunteer Coordinating Services left me a message on my answering machine when I was not home. I called her back to let her know I was still interested in any open positions. She finally contacted me this morning and offered me a position in the gift shop. =] I have my appointment with her Tuesday. It sounds like fun.

Btw, if you read all that: My heart forever belongs to you.
Please pray for those suffering in Asia from the tsunami and earthquake disaster.
And Pastor Ma, as he is ill.

They also accept cash donations. Every little bit helps.
