I've been an LA Ink addict lately! Which of course has me obsessing about body art and art in general. I think tattoos are amazing when they have meaning. Some can argue that all tattoos have meaning, because something prompted someone to put it on their body in the first place, but the truth is the girls with the snowflakes and random japanese symbols or sleeves made from mashed together graphics don't really put much thought into the tattoos themselves usually, they just put thought into the look. I love how LA Ink is more soulful. They have so many requests for art that they mostly do things that are heavy on the meaning, and in each episode multiple people tell their story. Gripping. So forever ago I stumbled on this artist (when the local coffee shop had her work on display).
Check her out:
sandicalistroart.com She does some awesome tattoos as well. Go through her sites and scroll through them (even if you don't want tattoos, they are great pieces of art). So where am I going with this?? Guess who I want to do my next tattoo!! It's a pretty big, involved piece that I want. If I go through with getting it there won't be many details on here until it's done. I want there to be a grand unveiling. I'm super excited about it, and Eric is getting more and more on board. I feel like I just had to wait until the idea totally formulated, it's a piece I've thought about for a few years, and today the last part of the puzzle fell into place as I looked through her portfolio. Anyways, enjoy these pics!
