Your body only has two modes: Anabolic (gaining) and Catabolic (losing). There is no such thing as maintaining. You are either getting fat or you are getting skinny, period.
If you walked for eleven and a half hours, you'd burn a pound of fat.
Wearing a skirt (to expose your legs) in cold weather will burn calories and create more BAT tissue, which will make you thinner.
A pound of fat burns 2 calories a day; a pound of muscle burns 20-25.
You need a 1/2 oz. of water for every pound you have on your body.
If you're thirsty, you're already 2 quarts dehydrated.
You actually want to trick your body into becoming less efficient by eating lots of small meals. This will decrease the amount of fat the body will store, since it will not determine the need to save up for hard times.
