so, 2008 is about to end. and after being really reflective, had some pretty solid and somewhat heavy conversations about myself and where i am with my life i have decided that 2009 will be all about getting out of my comfort zone. networking, and building towards my future is on the agenda as well. so far i've gotten a few offers to do some cool things..but nothing too solid has came my way yet. i'm pretty aware i will have and need to take some risk before that will happen.
here's what's been offered to me so far (in every aspect as well) for me to:
intern at Victory Records.
play guitar in Among Equals.
play guitar in Polymer Division.
fill-in for joe in Ferrison if he goes to school abroad for 6 months. (possibly tour)
relocate to LA to inquire for an internship at Epitaph Records.
sell merch and tech for The Lifeline for their tour in march and so on.
sell merch and tech for Serra Velle during their tours in '09 and so on.
(and relocate south MS/FL)
possibly play guitar in chase's new melodic/punk/hardcore project based in LA on the side.
possibly play bass for a handful of aggressive/punk bands, but no luck.
so far the only thing i can see myself doing is touring with the two bands i stated before. i need the experience, it will force me to be more precise, and serious as well as work harder cause others will be depending on me to set the pace as well as organize everything. i'm tired of constantly just talking about what i want to do, but i'm sure me going on the road will motivate me as well as help me network with people in other cities and just grow overall. i will be getting my license within the next two weeks, and that's a promise. 2009 will define what i will be doing with my life.
