As citizens of the world, we must do something to improve it. If we all took the money we use on pointless items, and gave it to those who really need it, can you imagine HOW MUCH they'd have? Think of how much money you spend on Starbucks, or how much freakin' money Cooper City High School spent on microphones and speakers for the new classrooms. ( Read more... )

I pretty much agree entirely.. And I know exactly what you're saying about Sweet 16. I watch that show in a dumbfounded stupor. I also sometimes watch it so I know I'm not that selfish or demanding. But it sickens me how ungrateful some people are and how much is taken for granted...how we never think of others in that particular respect.

Anyway. Well written blurb there. :) ♥

I definitely agree. I've tried to cut back on pointless spending and I think I've been doing pretty well of it. I'm saving up money right now and looking for a good charity to donate to.

so rich people shouldn't spend money on their children? you might see it as "wasteful" but others see it as a way of life. if i had mad money, i would def give my child a nice car, did you not get a car(not a range rover but a car in range of your parents budget)? i totally agree with what you said, but people are too selfish to help others, myself included.

i'm not saying don't enjoy your money...i'd give my child a nice car as well, but their first car? and it's not just the car in that situation, it's the no budget parties also. i don't know about you, but even if i had tons of money to waste, i don't think i would. i'd have a nice house, nice things, and a nice car, but i wouldn't go over the top, and i'd try really hard not to waste it. it's so much better, to me, to see someone else happy with their free lunch or, in a missions trip case, some socks, than for me to have something that i don't really need or want. maybe i'm not saying what i feel correctly, cause i'm not saying to give up all your money at all. it's just being wise with it, i guess.

before i say anything else, i want you to understand im not trying to argue with you, even though it might seem that way?
i completely understand how you feel but dont you think the "no budget parties" are for a reason? i mean c'mon its on mtv so its gotta be big, and the parents do it for the kids. almost every single kid on that show are spoiled brats (i am too but im not a rich brat) so the kids want what THEY want, and the parents give it to them. its disgusting, i no, but people watch it and enjoy it. and being their first car? does that matter, i mean second third fourth w/e its still a car that the parents are going to buy the kid, regardless of the fact that they probably cant "legally" drive. thats good that you dont take money (or even life) for granted. :)
