Church

I know, I know. All I ever talk about is church, and how much I love it. Church is me, though. It's part of me. It's my life. I'm writing this for myself, but also to give back to that stone building I love so much.
For the past 2 1/2 years, that building has been home to me. Sundays have been nothing more than a day of friendship, a day of relaxation, a day in the basement. I don't think I've ever looked forward to anything more than Sunday mornings with some of the best people I've ever met. In this place, I've met some of my best friends, kids that I will never forget. These people have been here for me through my struggles, and I have shared my advice and help with them through their troubles. There's never been a time when I needed help that I wasn't talked to and guided through my problems, with open arms and warm hearts. I've learned, and grown up so much as a person, through my experiences at the church, more than I ever thought possible. I've never felt more accepted than in this congregation, this circle of friends, this youth group. I know I can always speak my mind, and get positive feedback from so many different individuals, many different voices. I've never been surrounded by a more diverse group of people than I have in this building. Every single body is of a different race, gender, color, age, background. We all have different views and opinions, but we all share a common belief of our religion. Unitarian Universalism. Those two words allow me to feel so different, but so alike at the same time.
Lori Eldridge, Tony Lister, Kelly Masters, Jason Donati, Joe Ott, Kristen Rose, and Kathleen Powers are some of the most influential, encouraging, and amazing adults, let alone people, I have met in the last 3 years. Without them, my life would be incomparable. They have been my rock, my basis for UUism. Although Jason, and Kathleen have moved on with their lives, and Lori is moving to New York City, for the time I have been around them, they have left an impact on my life. They're always teaching me something new, whether they know it or not.
