to the summit!
The most exciting* thing that happened at work this week was me getting a new keyboard from IT.
I'm not even kidding.
Which is why I am super ready for this weekend. I'm going camping/hiking in New Hampshire with Linds and Wagner and few of their friends. When I signed up for this trip a few weeks ago, I figured I was in for a weekend of drinking heartily and eating s'mores by the camp fire.
Since then, this trip has evolved into a hardcore (um, for me) hiking expedition. Eight hours to the summit of Mt. Washington and back to camp. Not only is Mt. Washington the highest mountain in New England, apparently it is home to famously volatile weather. Sweet.
At first I had some reservations, but after doing some research and consulting my outdoor guru (Schaffer), I am actually totally pumped for the hike.
Of course, we might not even get to do it because for whatever reason New England has been extremely reluctant about joining in on the summer fun, and cold rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday. Ah well. Hopefully we'll get to make the hike, but if not, the preparation for this one has me in an outdoorsy mindset, and another attempt will be made as soon as possible.
