I have officially watched every episode of Doctor Who currently still in existence.
It went by so fast at the end. I was taking extended breaks throughout seven, subconsciously avoiding the inevitable, but now I am done... well almost. I'm going to give Eight's Big Finish audio stories a go because the world needs more Eight, and there's still Sarah Jane Adventures, so one last day with Brigadier, and 10 for that matter. There's also an animated feature with a non-canon nine to watch.
I don't have any of those downloaded though, and probably won't be able to until Spring Break.
PS I love four but he was by Doctor only because he was my dad's and my dad introduced me to the series, not because I had seen any episodes at the time, as I have explained countless times. Now that I've watched all 11, I can safely say that Two is my doctor.
Four is still up there though... hmm if I had to list them (though I'm sure this list will forever change based on what level of nostalgia I'm feeling each day):
Two, Ten, Four, Five, Seven, Nine, Eight, Three, Eleven, One, Six...
or maybe... Two, Ten, Four, Seven, Eight, Five, Three, Nine, Eleven, One Six...
ahhhh I'll never make up my mind about this. Either way both Two and Five were unexpected loves. Three urked me for the longest time, but I realized how much I missed both him and Unit when watching The Five Doctors. Seven had so much more in him, and deserved more time and better written episodes... they all deserved better writing. Five reminded me so much of Eleven... speaking of Eleven, I still think of him too much as Matt and the new guy to really place him. One took a long time to warm up to the role, but once he did it was great. And then there's six... oh why oh why oh why. I hear now that he has better material and a better production crew, that he is a decent doctor in the audio stories, but he is tainted by what they did with him on-screen. Four was just what I expected, but he never went beyond that becuase of the writing limitations.
AND GUYS. THE COMPANIONS.
I probably would have loved Five a lot more if I had loved his companions, but I never did. Tegen grew on you, Nessa could have been so much more, and Adric... oh Adric. Barbara and Ian I will always adore you two, and I loved you both and your ship long before I loved One. Susan was a whiner, but she cooled near the end. Viki was nice, but I had to look her up just now to remember her. Steven and Dod, you tried but no-go. Though Steven you were one of the first to stand up to the Doctor, and for that I give you the thumbs up. Ben and Polly came and went, nothing much to say. But then along came JAMIE MCCRIMMION, my favorite companion of all time. Then Victoria came in the first classic episode that I really enjoyed. I love that episode. And I loved Victoria too for that matter. Then Zoe came and killed computers with her mind and wore sparkly leotards. And then there's was the Brigadieeeeer; I loved him so much and he will be missed. And Ms Shaw was there for a bit, but she never got to travel with the Doctor, but I bet she would have loved. Then Ms Joe Grant came, and in my eyes she was the first companion that felt like the companions we have today. And she was absolutely brilliant, as were the rest of the UNIT family. And after that came Sarah Jane. RTD spreads lies! I never saw any sign of a romantic interest between her and the Doctor, so I don't get what is up with today's protrayl of her. She was never a Rose, but a Donna. And when she was on the show I didn't start liking her until the Pyramids of Mars, but then she had to go away in a scene that was beautifully done. Just as she finally knew that character she had to leave. But let us not forget about Harry Sullivan who I reminded me of Ian and those automatically earned my love. But after that came Leela and K9, and they were both so brilliant. But then A man named Douglas Adams came along and we got a time lady named Romana, who I flat out did like from the beginning. But then she spent all this time with the Doctor and stopped acting so Gaiffreyian, and I quite liked her. Then she regenerated into Romana II, who was amazing and perfect. And then five's gang of kids showed up, but I've already talked about them. Turlough was a Slytherin and a coward, but this reminded me of Draco, so I actually liked him for all his flaws. Kamelion, I don't even count you as a companion. BUT THEN CAME PERI AND THE EPISODE WHERE FIVE REGENERATED INTO SIX, AND ANYONE WHO HAS WATCHED CLASSIC KNOWS WHY THIS IS IN ALL CAPS. I like Peri a lot, after only having her for an episode, and the way six treated her and the way she missed five made it so easy to relate to her. Then Mel showed up and screamed a lot. And then Ace came in and was as charming as I expected she'd be.
Oh any btw. DELGADO MASTER FTW. He was so brilliant, and he made Three's tenture for me. Ainley was great too. In fact, I like every version of the Master more than John Simm's, which is so wrong and off.
Ahhh I need to be animating right now. FAREWELL!
