A Meh Birthday
Today is my birthday! So, I went to bed almost at 2 in the morning. I fell asleep somewhere around 3 am. I was so sore from yesterday's work that I had trouble getting out of bed. I didn't get out of bed until 15 minutes pass my alarm going off. I had to get ready for dive class. I ate breakfast in silence but then I realized that I could of had the TV on and listen to Ink'd. I then got ready for dive class. My mom called my grandparents so they could wish me a happy birthday.
We were running a bit late again today. When we arrived at the pool class already started. I said to myself that today I will try and dive. The instructor told us to do a pencil dive first to warm up. As I was waiting in line one of the girls in the class asked me how old I was. I was going to say I can't lie and tell her but my younger sister told the girl to guess my age. She guessed I was around 12 or 13. I then told her I turn 17 today and she looked surprised. When it was my turn to jump off the diving board the second time my instructor told me to do a backwards dive. I then got to the age of the board and he was surprised that I was going to do it. He asked me if I needed help and I said yes. I tried to do it but I panicked and I just fell. Well, that's a step and now I'm not so afraid.
After class I got my shirt and shorts back on and I waited for my friend's sister because I wanted to ask her something. I asked her if my friend worked on weekends and she said yes. My mom wanted my older sister to take me and my younger sister home but my older sister left before we arrived. My mom then had to go pick up my younger brother. On the way to school I was listening to the radio and the DJ played upon request They Might Be Giant's song "Bird House in Your Soul." I like that song and I have it on my iPod Shuffle. I was hoping that something like "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescent or "What I've Done" by Linkin Park would play.
On our way home my mom decided to stop by Costco to pick up some hot dogs for lunch. I was tired of pizza and hot dogs so I just asked for a berry smoothie. My older brother always got one and they taste good! Anyways, my mom noticed there were only 5 hot dogs even though there's usually 6 of 'em. I told her I wasn't hungry and all I wanted was a smoothie. When we arrived home I took a shower and when I was done for some reason there was one hot dog left. I think either my mom didn't have one or one my brothers ate the sandwich my dad brought home.
I then watched TV for about an hour and a half. I then got dressed so I could go to the store and buy stuff to make a cake. When I told my mom I was ready to go she said she will go later after dinner. I didn't fell like changing again so I decided to play Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and do story mode hero's side. I was up to the Aquatic Mine when I had to leave for my birthday dinner. I chose to go to 5 & Diner because I know they give you a free scoop of ice cream if it's your birthday. I then had to go to the grocery store so I could finally buy the cake stuff. I saw a balloon that had a pirate skull on it and the balloon read, "Pirate Party" on it. I asked my mom and she said I could have it. I wanted to make a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. I made the same cake last year.
I made the cake and it turned out alright. I also told two of my friends today is my birthday. I spelled out Happy Birthday in Italian. My siblings thought it was Spanish though. They sang to me and I tried unsuccessfully to blow out all 17 candles.
To be honest today's birthday was strange. I didn't get to have a quiet ride home, m grandparents usually call me in the early morning (but they're getting older so it's alright), I didn't get my birthday card from my uncle that usually gives them out (unless he stops at a certain age), the people who work at the 5 & Diner's place didn't sing and no one realized I didn't decide what I wanted for my birthday. I really want an Eiffel 65 CD but they're so expensive! I can only get them online because they're not avaible in America. I'm not sure why but I usally don't look forward to my birthday. I planned to play Super Smash Brothers with my family and then watch some DVDs of Invader Zim but everyone was too tired after the cake to stay awake. So, today was disappointing.
