A new child, a new Queen [future possibilites crack]

By the time they got to the Castle, Delilah was tired - or just succumbing to the ambiguity coming from David - and decided to go straight to bed, despite the early hour.
So the next day, around noon, David sent out runners to bring all the Spades into the Throne Room... along with whomever happened to be in Spade Castle at the time.
As they entered, they would see their new Queen, seated on the throne next to his, and holding an infant.
Delilah had always enjoyed the moment of spotlight that came with a promotion, even if she usually preferred the stealth of spying, and today was no different. She beamed down upon her Court, stopping occasionally to pay attention to her son. She was happy to let David take care of the speech and other formalities - in fact, she was probably happier than most of the people in the room had ever seen her before. Her current mood was a world away from what it had been less than a week earlier. No longer snapping at anyone who walked by, she was calm, collected, and confident that she'd make a good Queen. It had always been her intention; she'd just planned to stay a Jack until David stepped down, assuming he'd rule alone.
She never would have guessed he'd have her rule with him. But then - she never would have guessed that they'd end up having a child together, either. And though she'd sworn she was going to give him up, when she'd seen Devlin... she just couldn't. So now it was also time to lay bare his parentage.
David's speech was short, but well-composed and to the point. And he didn't mention Athena once, though it was likely everyone in the room was thinking of her. She was gone from the Suit, but not the Deck.
