I did get back.

Dec 20, 2010 17:09

At 2am.

After having to change planes and other exciting things. Oh they were exciting.

Anyway, I'm home, I'm tired, but there's underfloor heating and the view (snow, snow and more snow) is magnificent.

Hopefully I'll be more comprehensible after I sleep.

christmas, ireland 10, weather, travel, family

Lots of waiting around in the cold and seat reservations not available for technical reasons. But at least we didn't get stuck in the snow? Plus lots of worrying whether I turned off the stove at home and how much resistance my balcony door puts up against determined burglars. They don't know there's nothing much worth stealing!

Did you get a seat? Or have to make do with the floor? I've sat in the vestibule between carriages for 3 hr at one time or another.

Glad you got home in the end and I'm sure the burglars won't bother you. They've probably read about your murderous washing machine and shelving unit and are too scared to visit.

I did get a seat, but it was cold and had no power socket :( All right, so maybe I didn't suffer all that much.

There's always the piano! And... not much else. The washing machine is in the cellar, alas.

Hurrah for seats! Oh dear, no power socket. I have to admit I did have a bit of an explore for a power socket in the airport.

I'm sure your neighbours are more attractive. Piano or no piano.

And my books! And the pieces of paper tht prove I graduated from university! My rubber tree! Waugh!

Yes, but did you write fic on the plane is the important question here. (I attempted fic on the train, but the battery was threatening to die after one hour)

I did not write fic on the plane this time (odd for me as the Dublin-UK flight is usually so productive for me!). But there was complete exhaustion. I did however, scribble some things by torchlight last night about 4am due to sleep inspiration. I haven't to see if any of it is any good.

Oh and I found you a funny: The writing of long fics: akin to other more instinctual acts?
