It has been the busiest week of SHINee. TV guesting here, radio appearances there, weekend performances, going out of the country to perform and everything an idol do.
Onew wiped the sweat off his forehead as he smiled at the girl in front of him. “Sorry for the wait.” The girl smiled back as she handed the album that Onew will sign on. Beside Onew had been a worried Key, on a constant lookout at the leader and checking on his condition. Onew had been running a fever and he was worried that Onew would collapse.
Onew turned over to look at Key and smiled to him, softly saying “I’m okay. Stay focus, Kibum.”
When the fan-signing session had ended, Key walked ahead of Onew, thinking of fixing the backseat for the latter to sleep for a while in the car. However, when Key was about to board their ride, he heard Taemin’s concerned voice, asking if their leader was feeling fine. Onew was sprawled on the ground with Taemin kneeled down beside him. He immediately ran to Onew’s side and asked Taemin what had happened. He was then informed that a fan had grabbed Onew by his arm, causing the surprised leader to fall.
Their manager carried Onew to the car with Key protecting Taemin from the fangirls whom were following them. When they had gotten inside the car, Key immediately checked on Onew. “Jinki Hyung, are you alright? How are you feeling? Are you hurt?”
Adding onto Key’s worries were that of Onew’s lack of response and the look that the older boy had seemed as though he was gasping for breath.
While Key checked Onew’s temperature, Jonghyun couldn’t help but ask, “Kibum, is Appa alright?”
“Manager hyung, I think we need to take Jinki hyung to the hospital.” Key said with a panicked voice.
“Just calm down, Kibum. We are going back to the dorm and I will call the company’s doctor so that they can check on Jinki’s condition” Manger said with an assuring voice.
“Kibum, don’t worry too much. Appa will be alright” Jonghyun said and Minho gave him an reassuring smile. “Jjong Hyung is right. Appa is strong” Taemin added.
Key smiled and placed his pink blanket over Onew.
When they went back to the dorm, the doctor was already waiting for them. Their manager carried Onew to his room and settled him down for the doctor to check on him.
“Let him rest in bed for 3 days and he’s to take medication.” The doctor calmly said
“Is there anything that he is not allowed to eat or what?” Key asked
“There’s none. It’s a simple fever that is cause by lack of sleep and stress”
***
“Hey.”
Onew opened his eyes. He had been in their dorm for 2 days. He was so bored staying home alone.
“How was your day?” Onew asked as he tried to sit up.
Key helped him up and said “Fine, but not as great as you were with us. The other three missed you and the fans did too.”
“How about you, my Bummie? Do you miss me?”
“Of course I do. A family is not that strong without their Appa, so you should get well soon.”
“Bummie, thank you”
“For what?” Key asked.
“A family is also not strong if their Umma is not beside their Appa” Onew pointed out.
“It’s weird that we are using the term Umma and Appa.”
They looked at each other and laughed.
Meanwhile at the living room
“Where are you going, Taemin?” Jonghyun asked.
“A growing boy like me needs a lot of sleep…so I am sleeping now”
“You can sleep here first. Minho will carry you later.”
“Why would I do that?” Minho, who was sitting in the floor, said as he changed the television channel.
Jonghyun sat beside him and said “Min”. He widened his large, doe eyes and pouted cutely. He knew Minho couldn’t resist him when he does that. “Okay. Fine”
“So Flaming Charisma’s weakness is Bling Bling Jonghyun.” Taemin teased.
“Whatever! Just give OnKey couple some time.” Minho rebutted, concentrating on the soccer match that was on.
“Jinki hyung might be depressed these past few days and only Kibum can make him feel happy now.” Jonghyun said.
“Well Umma always does that. I really don’t get it, why aren’t they dating.” Taemin said as he lay on the sofa.
“Me neither. I told Kibum to confess to Jinki hyung but he couldn’t do it. He’s acting like a coward.” Jonghyun said as he sighed
“Looks who’s talking. It took him a year before he confessed to me” Minho proudly said.
“Did I tell you to speak?”
Minho grabbed Jonghyun until he was sitting on his lap and said “Who’s the boss Kim Jonghyun?”
Jonghyun pouted then lightly hit Minho’s chest
“I am getting sick with this couple thing” Taemin said as he tried to sleep and forget that the JongHo couple were making out.
At OnTaeKey’s room
“Are you hungry? I can cook for you” Key said.
“I just ate before you guys arrived. Manager hyung helped me. I didn’t know he could cook!” Onew smiled widely.
Key laughed. ‘So cute’ he thought. “Anything else you’d want?”
“Can you sleep beside me? I need someone whom I can hug?”
“What do you think I am? A teddy bear?”
Onew laughed, then said “No, but I want to hug you~~~”. He pouted.
“Okay okay. I’ll just take a shower and put the kids to bed first.”
“Okay. I will wait.”
Key walked out of the room to find Taemin sleeping on the sofa and JongHo sleeping on the floor, with Jonghyun on top of Minho. He walked up to them and woke them up.
“Taeminnie.”
Taemin woke up and said softly, “Umma”
“Why did you sleep here?” Key said as he fixed Taemin’s messy hair.
“Giving time to the OnKey couple” Taemin said innocently while rubbing his eyes
Key smiled at him. “You can now sleep in our room. Make sure to change your clothes before sleeping”. Taemin nodded sleepily and went to the room.
Key kneeled down on the floor as he gently shook Jonghyun and Minho. “Hey, you will catch cold if you were to sleep here. Jonghyun, Minho.”
Minho was the only one who woke up. “Hyung” he whispered.
“Go to the room. You will catch a cold.”
Minho managed to carry Jonghyun without walking him up. Key went to the bathroom to take a shower. After half an hour, he went back to their room and found Taemin’s clothes scattered on the floor. He gathered it and put it in the laundry basket. He was about to lay on his bed when, “Hey I thought you would sleep next to me” Onew said with a pout.
“I thought it was a bad idea. You might not sleep. I snore and sleep talk.”
“Well I am used to it. I sleep beside you at our old dorm. Please, Bummie” Onew pouted.
Key couldn’t help it and moved to Onew’s bed with the latter hugging him.
“Bummie, thank you for making my life being SHINee’s leader easier.”
