Ginny Weasley is flying. She lives, breathes and dreams it because it is a freedom robbed from her at the Hogwarts whose corridors have become the silent battlegrounds of student revolt. And while her dreams are often plagued with that darkness, today’s afternoon nap is filled with light - literally, a dazzling sun - as her scarlet and gold Quidditch robes whip through the summer air.

The witch acts as Seeker, speeding through the skies on a broom that is far newer than any she owns in reality, chasing an elusive golden ball as it darts through an apple orchard. As Ginny navigates through the trees with practised ease, a house, tall and crooked, suddenly appears on the horizon and the Snitch disappears into a cluster of golden bubbles hanging above a couple, one bearing the scars of a werewolf attack on his otherwise handsome face, the other part-Veela and beautiful beyond words.

As Ginny flies over the wedding ceremony, the groom looks up at her with exasperated amusement and it’s clear he is her eldest brother. “Gin,” Bill says to her as his wife-to-be Fleur shakes her head reproachfully, “You’re late.”

His sister screeches to a halt with a blurted apology, the sudden brake throwing her from the broom and sprawling at Harry Potter’s feet, who helps her back up. And suddenly Ginny is clad in her golden bridesmaid’s dress, hair done up with her wand woven into it like an ornament and she is dancing at the reception. The band plays on a distant stage and the Boy Who Lived is twirling his girlfriend, dipping her and brushing a kiss over her lips and Ginny is the happiest and luckiest witch in the world at this moment.

Harry is called away before the song ends by Ron and Hermione, arms around each other as they wait at the edge of the dance floor before they are obscured by waltzing wedding guests. The crowd’s faces are mostly blurred at the edges of the dream but some familiar ones stand out, mostly beloved family members and friends to the youngest Weasley. At one point, Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood twirl past, Gryffindor’s Sword held in their joined hands and a crown of turnips on the blonde’s head.

While the dream is everything that is held dear to Ginny Weasley, in the distance beyond the warmth of The Burrow, the trees and hedges that separate this small magical community from the Muggle village beyond are as dark and forbidding as the Forest by Hogwarts. Nothing and no one goes near it but any wandering eyes may see the shadow of a darkly handsome youth standing there and watching the festivities, an unassuming black diary held in his long, white fingers.

Ginny does see him. This is the nightmare her dream will turn into later in the day, a part of her knows it, so she doesn't tempt it, wants to stay in this good dream for as long as possible. She looks back to the wedding and tries to seek out Harry. But he’s disappeared in the crowd and so she slips through it too, dancing with her father, with a brother, with another brother while The Chosen One’s green robes constantly whip out of sight.

[ooc; A surreal take on Bill and Fleur's wedding at The Burrow. Visitors to Ginny's dream may see people from her world (her parents, her brothers, any of the trio, for example) but won't be able to interact with them - they'll all be strangely elusive because that's how they are to Ginny's subconscious.

Places: The Burrow in general, so, the orchard, the garden, the house... Creepy forest is literally nightmare material so... er, venture there at your own risk, I guess. THIS IS MOSTLY A HAPPY DREAM.]

what big brother doesn't know, affected: definitely, 02, magic is real, dream vortex, prefers chasing to seeking, tl;dr time, weasley moment, redheaded witch, special place for the boy-who-lived, harry potter, home, family, action post, curse
