Stupid pet tricks. Saw this randomly on someone list and it just struck me as being an awful lot like what life is like at my house--cats, chickens, entertaining each other and me. Hence, Stupid Pet Tricks.
Royaliste. I used to occasionally sail on that vessel. The owner/captain was rarely sober, and his method of storing gunpowder was less than safe, but damn, it was fun! I think that it was Keith Oshins that hooked me up with them. The rest of the pirate group is still around and doing appearances and guild-type stuff a la Ren Faire, but that's not my thing. For me, it was all about being out on the water.
Prosperity. That tattoo is at the base of my neck. It is a fruit bat eating a pomegranite (both are traditional symbols of prosperity, and both have personal resonance for me). The tat was done at Mom's Body Shop in the Haight, by Barnaby.
Sewing. Again, random icon snagged from somewhere--I just loved the hypnotic animation of a sewing machine action.
Anna Q. Nilssen. Found on Shorpy, which is a website dedicated to old photographs. I first knew Anna Q. Nilssen as one of the 'waxworks' in "Sunset Boulevard". But she'd had a successful career in silent movies--it was stunt casting. I love the whole photograph--the costume, the set, the cockatoo. It's a reminder that we all are people with more levels than appear on the surface.
