Will try to make this quick..cuz I have a kid-you-not...30 gallon trash bag filled (and then two grocery sacks) with clothing that has to be washed from this weekend...We just got back from the cabin and had a pretty nice time considering Emma dropped her glasses in the lake and Avery dropped one of my dad's expensive poles in the lake...(I bet my parents don't spend less than $500 on a pole (in fact I am thinking it is probably more since I had to go pick up a reel one time that my mom ordered and that alone was about 750)...it rained and rained Friday night but like good little fisherman, we were up at the crack of dawn to fish. Evan caught 56 fish and John caught 39 fish while Ian caught 16 Emma caught 10 (after she lost the glasses, she was pretty much over fishing) and Avery caught 7 but the last one she caught was 14 ounces so she got a trophy for biggest bream caught in the tournament. Evan came in 2nd overall and John came in 4th (which only got him a medal and not a trophy which I hate, because he worked so hard!)..but he did learn how to get his hook baited and to take his fish off when he caught it, because even with both Brent and myself on the dock, we were constantly untaggling lines, adding hooks, baiting, taking off fish, adding new bobbers, keeping track of scores, comforting upset children that had dropped something in the lake, chasing a suicidal baby that was determined to jump in the lake...etc etc..so, it helps to learn how to bait your hook and take your fish off...plus my body ACHES today..going up and down the hill to my parent's dock with a 25 lb baby on your back, is quite the workout. So, by yesterday evening, we were exhausted. The fishfry was great. The fish was very yummy. (although, I did have to try really hard not to think about the fact that those very fish that were eating were swimming along that very morning and now were dead and being eaten..) I don't know how hunter's do it. Being a fisherman is hard enough. It's much easier to just go to the market and buy it and not think about it's origin. Anywho..the fish was good :) Woke up this morning, packed everything up while the kids fished again and then went to town to eat breakfast with my parents at Petty's and then headed back home with 6 stinky kids who need a bath really really bad. We detoured and stopped by my grandmother's to say hi. She was happy to see us. We didn't stay long because I had to get back to get Frodo from the boarders. Go to pick him up only to find out he has been a bad boy. Apparently he was playing aggressivly with another dog and the handler reached in and Frodo bit her..he has never shown aggressive behavior, but I suppose all dogs are capable of it especially around other dogs..I don't know why he did it..anyway, I made his reservations for June when we go to Disneyworld, but they will have to put him with the big dogs now since he did that. Hopefully he will be ok. Maybe I will find another boarder..I don't know. He didn't seem to be upset when I got him. I figured he would come out barking his head off and jump all over me wanting me to hold him(that is what he does after he has been kenneled when I leave him here at the house for an hour)..but he seemed pretty un-phased that I had left him for two whole nights. Alrighty....I am FINALLY getting around to finishing The Secret Life of Bees (been so busy lately that it has been hard for to pick up a book)..and Oh My..now it is hard for me not to read it every time I get a second...good book! I love books like that. Oh and in other news I sold a dress on ebay for $61 that I bought at the thriftstore..amazes me what people will buy...gotta run and make dinner...chicken on the grill!
