Cruise - Day 1 & 2
OMG! I'm having such a great time!!!
We got picked up in the limo yesturday at 11:00 a.m. and arrived at the World Cruise Port at San Pedro at about 12:15 p.m. We had to stand in line (I sat on the floor...hee hee) until about 3:30 p.m. to sign in and get all registered. I guess the computer systems kept breaking...and I don't think the people checking us in were all that educated. Doh!
We boarded the ship, went to our rooms (which are LOVELY, btw) and searched for some food. We found ouselves at the Top Sider Buffett on the 9th floor (1st floor is bottom of this ship, 10th is the top...not counting the thingy at "11th floor") and ate a quick bite...shrimp, meats, fruits and YUMMY desserts. At 4:15 p.m. we had to go to the mandatory safety meeting I about ripped that darn life vest off...ugh...so restricting. Didn't like that part.
We then had an our long send off, complete with helicopters, news crews, fire works and a ton of people wave in the ENTIRE harbor. It was really neat being apart of Disney History like this.
From there, we went to our rooms to unpack. We went to dinner at 6:00 p.m. in the Anamator's Palate...that is an AMAZING place. With each course, the restaurant changes color! When looking at my pictures I took, you look like you're inside a painting. VERY COOL! Dinner was yummy: seafood/avocado wraps, merlot chicken with smashed potatoes, rolls and boston cream pie and decaf for dessert.
After dinner we went shopping. They only have two retail stores aboard which is REALLY shocking to me. They're cute and of course I found a few items to buy. ;)
We went in search of more food....this prednisone has me contantly eating!! We found some ice cream and pizza...and coke.
They don't have a midnight buffet here, but put out nice finger foods between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. I found that at about 11:00 p.m. and then went back to my room for a bath and to watch "Sweet Home Alabama"...slept REALLY well last night.
My parents and the family that is with us all went to the Character Breakfast...I KNEW I'd hate it if I went...my idea of vacation IS NOT a bunch of screaming kids. All I have to say is that I LOVE the adults only sections here. ha ha I awoke at 10:00 a.m. and had a really nice breakfast while my parents went and played bingo.
We just met for lunch back on the 9th floor and I went shopping: got Mom and Jerry some really nice Mickey Wine Glasses and a Silver Mickey Wine Stopper and had it gift wrapped. I then went to Guest Services to order the Birthday Decoration Package for mom. The reason we're even here is because of her 50th birthday. She'll be so suprised. :)
Tonight is the Captains Dinner and some fancy thing called "The Golden Mickeys"...not sure waht it is, but it sounds cool.
I've taken a TON of pictures already, so be prepared when I get back...hee hee
Gonna go back to my room. I may get into my bathing suit and read on one of the decks.
