Out of sight, out of mind

I've resigned myself to not being the official music provider of Bible School anymore. Kim does a good job directing the kids in singing to a CD; besides, on a piano, I can't re-create the mariachi environment that this year's "Fiesta" theme would entail. Besides, I was dubbed the "game boy" in my new role of wearing the kids down after their sugar-filled snacks.

So it was in mock disgust that I reacted to today's bulletin thanking me for providing the music. I informed the Sunday School congregation that technology had replaced me with a CD.

FF to the kids' program. Director Lisa is thanking everybody: teachers, craft workers, food providers, and "finally, Kim. If I've forgotten anyone, I apologize."

To which I say -- I'm sitting two rows from the front, facing Lisa -- "Apology accepted." Much laughter from all.

PS: Must remind myself to remember to invite mamallama's kids to Bible School next year; I keep forgetting. She doesn't even have to help out with the crafts... unless she wants to.
