Brother act

May 30, 2006 21:27

First, a bit of solemn exposition from the Daily Mail (emphasis added):

Fred C. Seabolt, 83, of Belle died May 28, 2006, at home following a long illness.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ortha Scarbro Seabolt; two sons and their wives, Charles and Mary Seabolt of Belle and Darrell and Mary Kay Seabolt of Charleston; two grandchildren, Cathy Taylor of Charleston and Carrie Friddell of Nashville, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Josiah Taylor and Abigail Taylor; sisters, Macel Carpenter of Kingwood, Elva Seabolt, Ethel Barnette and Virginia Beard, all of Mammoth, and Opal Hudson of Charleston.

Since Chad and I went to different schools, we each had a Mr Seabolt as a math teacher and referred to them as "my Mr Seabolt" and "his Mr Seabolt."

So FF to this morning, when Mom woke Chad up with the news that Mr Seabolt's father had died.

"Mine or his?" Chad groggily responded.

(FYI: This is the Carrie that mamallama is always talking about.)
