Previously on 7th Heaven: Teenager Ruthie is devastated that her boy-crush Martin got a college girl pregnant.

So on last night's episode, Ruthie's father sent her to a elderly woman's home to help her out with her new motorized wheelchair. Turns out that Elderly Woman still can't get over losing her own man many years ago, to the point where she wallpapered her living room with B&W photos of "her Johnny." (In an extra-creepy gesture, she colored all the B&W-Johnny-pic eyes blue.)

I'm of two minds about this.

If this were her son instead of a crush, the wallpaper would be a little more understandable. (Though not completely; the entire living room wall is still too weird.)

However, in an age where, sadly, marriage is almost literally a 50/50 crapshoot, she might think that there could always be hope that "her Johnny" could come back to her.

The moral of the story? There is a fine line between devotion and obsession.

obsession, romance
