In the process of my switch from
Comp to
Insurance, I've been moved back to Comp HQ -- more affectionately known as the "Puzzle Palace" -- starting today through the end of the year.
JOYS:
*I'm getting a new laptop (the old one can't run XP).
*I have a window view. If I turn around.
*The phones don't ring near as much.
*I now work one floor above my brother and his co-workers couldn't be happier. (They're all itching for dirt on him, and they want Mother to be the staff cook.)
CONCERNS:
*I guessed, incorrectly as it turns out, that I'd be moving on 12/1. So all my audits that I had scheduled up through and including 11/30 had to be either reassigned or cancelled. And as much as the accountants really don't want to see me, all the gathering of necessary papers has now been all for naught.
*Parking, on certain days. I can carpool with Chad and, using his permit, get a spot near the entrance. But say for instance tomorrow, when he's taking a half-day, I'll have to park several blocks away.
