Day 4: Stuck in the Midwest with you

Jun 28, 2010 06:02

LINCOLN, NE -- After the customary Sunday morning respite at church, headed the 195 miles north and west to Nebraska -- knocking one more state off my list.

In my nerdiness, we went to the state capitol and took the tour. The tour was more focused on the art in the skyscraper lobby than the history of the building, and only near the end of the tour did the tour guide mention that Nebraska is the only state that has one legislative house.

After dropping off our supplies at the hotel, we returned downtown for dinner at Lazlo's in the funky Haymarket District, and then walked over the railroad tracks to Lincoln/U.Nebraska's ballpark for another baseball game.

I don't what we've done, but this is our fourth (and my fifth) sporting event on our trip in which the home team has lost; this time, it was Sioux City defeating Lincoln 11-7.
