Valentine's Day poetry slam

First, mine:
I saw you across the room--
Smiling, laughing--
But I can't approach you.

You are so kind to everyone--
Warm, embracing--
But I don't get that from you.

He comes and takes your heart--
Swiftly, stealthily--
And I won't forgive you.

And then, an independent submission:
As the tears roll down your face
I see you, I see her.
You walk over, you ask how I am.
I say I'm fine (I lie).
As you slip off the shirt she bought you,
She yells for you.
As she kisses your lips, I see
The ever-fading hickey just above the collar.
I want to scream, want you to feel what I feel.
I walk away knowing you don't love me.

poetry, love
