He was unaware of its effects, and believed it would protect him from werewolf bites, so he could be with his girlfriend Ael during the Full Moon. Being a Chimera allows him to cast Egyptian Elemental magic which is inaccessible to most humans. He and Khense are very close friends, almost brothers-at-heart.

He also uses a metal staff with several rings around the head that jingle to help perceive his environment-a sonar effect, if you will. He and Zelgadis are twins, and are pretty close.
