My Mom flew up from Florida to visit! We are going to take a road trip with the kids to see Mount Rushmore because she has never seen it. I think part of the reason she came to visit is to get away from the heat in Florida.
TRAVEL TIP: NEVER travel to Florida in the summer. It is like being wrapped in a warm, wet towel. Save the trip for October-March. It will probably still be warm, and you avoid heatstroke.
I used to work at a hospital in Orlando and it was amazing how many people would spend the day at Disney or Universal walkiing around in the blistering heat in July. They drop like flies at a bug zapper. It's miserable. Not only the heat, but every day around 3pm, the skies would open up with rain. It was like a bucket dumped on your head. It only lasts for 30min, but then everything is so muggy after that. Your lungs feel like they are trying to stick together.
I have missed my mom, she's a character. I have her for a whole week! The kids are really happy that she is here. She is such a positive, upbeat person.
Will miss Wimbledon while I 'm gone. Allez Roger!
