Well, I should definitely be working. I have a ton to do before next weekend's fall break. Java paper (lol) due on Thursday, Java program due next Tuesday, a 5 page critique paper due in sociology next Tuesday, and finance and spanish tests next Wednesday. Ugg.
Anyway, this weekend was fun. Friday night we went to a corn maze (it's a southern thing) for some fall/Halloween fun. It was not far, just over in Watkinsville, but very fun. Katy and Matt were pretty competitive about it and ended up finishing last, but Erin and I finished first! Saturday I volunteered for the Festiva Latina de Salud (Latino Festival of Health) and got to practice some real live spanish conversation. I befriended a cute 4-year-old boy named Jose, who spoke no english. He enjoyed painting the mural we had setup, although he got quite a bit of paint on himself and me, heh. I'm very glad I volunteered, and I hope to get more involved with the Latino community here in Athens. The church we were at also offers free ESL classes to adults on weeknights, and I may try to get involved with that as well. Afterwards, we watched the heart-pounding, gut-wrenching USC/Notre Dame game. Too bad USC ended up winning by luck at the end, but at least FSU lost and gave UGA a solid command of 4th in all the rankings (and one computer poll even ranked us first, lol). Saturday night we also went downtown to Go Bar, which is always entertaining.
Back to work...
