It's almost time for Camp Nano! Did you think I'd forgotten you? Forgotten that I'd said we were going to do something here during both June and August? Oh, no! I haven't forgotten.
First - some explanation for everyone who wasn't around for the initial discussions.
What is Camp NaNo? It's a summer version of National Novel Writing Month that is done in November every year. If you don't know what NaNoWriMo is, please check out the
FAQ on their site and then COME JOIN US!
What do I need to do to participate? If you are participating in the actual event, you need to write 50,000 words in 30 days. You can do original or fandom. Their rules state that the story needs to be new in the month but I know all sorts of people that don't follow that particular rule. The words should be NEW in the month, though, no matter what you're writing.
To participate in the event here on the community, you don't necessarily have to write 50,000 words in 30 days but I do ask that you push yourself a little bit this month. Give yourself a goal that you'll have to work towards, not something you KNOW you can do.
Why should I stick around the community this month? Because we have prompts! And we have accountability! And a sense of camaraderie! See more to come!
What fun pretties will we get for participating? Well, to begin with, you get a participation banner to share right now!

There will be a banner at the end, as well!
What do we have to do to get that banner at the end? There will be a few posts every week and you have to comment to at least ONE of those. I have to see that you are participating. You can't sit in your cabin the entire month and expect to be in the camp photo at the end, you know?
What sort of prompts will there be this time around? Well, let me tell you what I've come up with you! *insert evil sounding cackle here* There is a 30 Things I Wrote About Today prompt graph, a 30 Quotes prompt list and a Massive List of Verbs prompt list - plus special prompts in those random posts. I will post the graph and lists soon. You will have the opportunity to use one of the lists or any of the prompts to make your own, whatever makes your muse happy. This month is all about catering to the muse!
Sound good? Do you have any questions? Concerns? Comments? Doughnuts?
