Regarding the Governor's race here in Kentucky,
a liberal Democrat defeats incumbent Republican. :)

This morning I picked up my uncle at the nursing home, drove him to the hospital for CAT scans, drove him back to the nursing home, went to City Hall and paid his utility bill, went to the polls and voted, made a deposit at the bank, stopped at a coffee shop for a latte, and was at my desk at work by 10 am. Just another typical day as of late.

Now, time for the pics -
a few from Halloween ...
My niece and nephew
My niece had a new hippie outfit she had already worn to a Halloween party but at the last minute decided to go trick-or-treating as a ? pajama party girl? She wore leopard print pjs with pink furry robe/slippers and a sleep mask. She had her pillowcase filled full with candy three times. Work it, girl. Last year she didn’t want to change out of her Halloween costume to get ready for bed. This year she didn’t have to. :P
My nephew is ten and at that age where he thought he was too old/cool for trick-or-treating. The lure of sugar was too much though and he finally donned a mask/hat and went through the neighborhood with a friend scoring some candy. I don’t know if he was Zorro or the Hamburglar.
My son and his friends dressed up as characters from the Street Fighters video game.
Vega,
Blanka,
Ryu, and
Guile If you can’t tell which one is mine, let’s just say I’m still finding green paint around the house. :/
Also, my kid got a tattoo on Halloween. He’s twenty and this is his first one. He’s talked about it several times as a teenager but my advice every time was to take his time and think about it first. I did so because as a dreamer, he tends to be a bit flighty in his interests and ideas. Not that there’s anything wrong with that :D, says his practical realist of a mother. Each time though he has come to me later saying he had changed his mind and was really glad he had waited. He has designed tribal tattoos for his friends before so he also did this one for himself. He had been talking about getting it for a while. It's on his side/ribs, under his arm. When you look closely at the tribal design, it has both of my parents’ names written in the strokes. My parents liked it.
Actually I was the last of the family to know he had gotten the tattoo. Again, like the motorcycle purchasing incident, they kept it secret thinking I would reign down disapproval on their golden grandchild. If they’d lived with that kid for 20 years, they would know all that glitters is not gold. As a parent, I know when to pick my battles and his getting a tattoo isn’t one of them. A few days later, my son mentioned it and showed me the tattoo but he forgot to tell my parents that he had. :D I waited until one of them let it slip and then pretended to be shocked they would keep something like that from me. Not a fan of the guilt trip, but that was too good an opportunity for deflecting a little back to my parents.
One last Halloween pic of my neighbors’ dog which made me laugh to see such sport.
The pirate says, “Arghh!”
