A recap of the last few days - Good Friday, Good Weekend, Good Easter, and Monday wasn’t so bad either.
+ Left work early Friday to meet a friend for coffee. Cinnamon Hazelnut Praline.
+ Dinner and a movie Friday night. Tried a restaurant within walking distance of the movie theater. I had always wondered about the Chirico’s Ristorante sign adjacent to a small hotel in the downtown area. It’s a quaint little Italian place and I’ll definitely eat there again. Saw the movie, Wild Hogs. It made me laugh. A lot. I don’t know if this movie was really as funny as I perceived it or if I was just in the mood to laugh at anything, but I left the theater with my sides hurting from laughing so much. It was sort of like City Slickers, but with motorcycles instead of horses. Stay for the credits, if you go see it. Left the theater to discover it was snowing. It was a
lovely night for a walk in the snow. I was not expecting that at this time of the year. I missed the memo about spring being officially recalled.
+ Had lunch Saturday with my mom and sister at Applebee’s. Cajun Lime Tilapia. Yum.
+ Went bra/cosmetics shopping with a friend. I found the bras I needed and she found her cosmetics. I also bought a copy of Movie Magic but couldn’t find any of the Entertainment Weekly magazines. I’m getting nostalgic about the Harry Potter series ending in three months.
+ Saturday evening, I stayed home to once again watch the important historical documentary
History of the World Part I. I’m on a Mel Brooks kick lately. Last weekend was Robin Hood: Men inTights.
You can’t help but laugh at lines such as these:
Marcus Vindictus: What bait must I use to catch your love? I am your servant.
Empress Nympho: Ah, but the servant waits, while the master baits.
+ Sunday dinner was with the family at my parents’ house. My contributions: a 7-lb. roasted turkey breast, a 5-lb. baked ham, and 3-lbs. dressing. My sister and mom made the rest. I think my favorite was the freshly prepared green beans and cornbread. That one is mom’s standard summertime fare and I needed a reminder of summer with the cold temp/wind on Easter. It was a bit brisk for the egg hunt but
the kids enjoyed it.
+ This week is spring break for local schools which meant ... no tutoring last night for me. :D That meant no stress-related head/stomach/back aches and/or angst for me regarding that subject. *thinks happy thoughts* In two weeks, I’ll be in the Bahamas!
Hope all is well with everyone. :)
